Trinity Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church located just south of Warrenton, VA on U.S. 15-29. Our church is easily accessible from anywhere in the Northern Virginia area. The church facilities are located on 10 beautiful acres with a fantastic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
There are more than 15,000 independent Baptist churches in America and at least 10,000 Independent Baptist missionaries serving on mission fields worldwide.
Every independent Baptist church is an autonomous congregation. We are self-governing and self-supporting. The Head of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. It is our desire to be a true New Testament church.
At Trinity Baptist Church, through, we have one message - the message of the Lord Jesus Christ, and one ministry - the ministry He has giving us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
For several years, a young preacher named Vinton Williams had felt a burden for Fauquier County. It was in March 1973 under God's leadership that he and his family moved to Warrenton to start a brand new church. Together with a handful of families, they began meeting in the basement of the old Marshall National Bank and Trust building (now PNC Bank). Finally, on January 18, 1974 Trinity Baptist Church was officially organized.
As the congregation began to grow, more meeting space was required. So in the summer of 1975, Pastor Williams and the young congregation began to hold services at the P.B. Smith Elementary School on Dumfries Road. During this time, they began to seek the Lord's leading concerning the purchase of property centrally located in Fauquier County, 2 miles south of Warrenton, on US 29, a major north/south highway. Construction of the church facility began early in 1976 and on January 16, 1977, the congregation held the first service in their brand new building. Later on October 28, 1977, an additional five acres of adjacent property was purchased.
From the beginning, it has been our first passion to fulfill Christ's Great Commission to the church. We praise the Lord for what He has allowed us to do for Him here in Warrenton. Under Pastor Williams' leadership, we have experienced the blessing of seeing many souls saved and many other lives touched through the ministries the Lord has entrusted us with.
Over the years, Trinity has grown to a warm, friendly and thriving congregation and all the glory belongs to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Indeed, as a church we all say together...
"To God be the glory - great things He hath done!"
